A quick rewards update!
Some of you will know this already, as a result of, well, seeing the boxes showing up at your door.
The following are 100% packed, and 95% already mailed:

"Just Leif & Thorn" orders -- including to Australia and New Zealand! That's right, postage prices are finally back down

"Leif & Thorn + BICP Paperback Box Set" combo orders -- to everywhere
(All the books seen in this photo have been mailed.)
That leaves only 10 rewards not yet fulfilled:
- 9 backers who ordered the BICP hardcover box set (still in production)
- 1 backer who...has not actually answered their survey
If you're that last one, I re-sent the email about where to fill it out. Hope you're doing all right. Double-check your spam folder.

Leif & Thorn Volume 4 has started to arrive at backers' houses!
Every Volume 4 order that wasn't marked "bundle with my BICP order" has been shipped. (Except the ones to NZ or AU. If that's you, check your messages.)
Sidenote for BICP backers: Omnibus 3 is actually printed now, and will be on its way to my home soon. So the day when I can start shipping the BICP orders is on the horizon. For real! Finally.
If your Leif & Thorn book(s) have shown up safe and sound, please take some photos and share them on social media! It always helps future campaigns when I can tell people "these books really get printed and backers are really happy with them, and here are the receipts to prove it."
If your book shows up and it's been damaged in the mail -- which is rare, but it does happen -- don't hesitate to DM me, and I'll get you another one.

So, hey, what's happening to the original cover art?
Last year I asked all backers if they wanted a shot at the Volume 3 cover art, and got a bunch of takers. So I found a "put a bunch of names on a wheel and spin it" website to decide who got it.
This year I offered the Volume 4 cover art, tried a different method, and heard from...two of you.
Which means, no need to make this fancy, I'll just flip a coin.
Heads -- Clara. Tails -- Kat.
Both of these are regular backers -- they've joined every single book campaign since Leif & Thorn volume 1! -- so the bit of extra appreciation that comes with "getting some original artwork" would be well-deserved for either of them.
Aaaaand flip:
...okay, I'm going to call that "landing on the edge" and try again.
(I swear this wasn't staged for a joke, I made a genuine attempt to flip the thing, and it went right into the box.)
This time, let's flip it facing away from my bubble-wrap-and-other-packing-materials boxes.

Congratulations to Clara -- your package will come with some extra art. Original, hand-drawn, impossible to right-click and save an exact copy of.

Also recently delivered: Omnibus 2 of the But I'm A Cat Person Master's Edition box set.
(Omnibus 3, the final volume, is...still in progress. On the printer's end, not on mine. I've had the print-ready files finished since September.)
If you preordered books only from the Leif & Thorn campaign:
- You have 48 hours left to update the shipping address in your BackerKit survey
- Once the survey addresses are locked, I'll start putting US orders in the mail
- A week or two after that, I'll start on the international orders
- If there are any special shipping restrictions to your country at that point, I'll reach out to you directly
If you preordered both Leif & Thorn and BICP, and selected "ship the books as soon as you get them" in your BackerKit survey:
- Your Leif & Thorn books will be shipped on the same schedule as above
- BICP books will be shipped later -- watch the Master's Edition campaign for updates
If you preordered both series, and selected "ship all the books together" in your BackerKit survey:
- Your books are being held safely in the Increasingly Massive Book Pile in my living room
- Shipping addresses can still be edited in the BICP Master's Edition surveys. I won't lock those until BICP is ready to ship, so if your address changes in the meantime, you'll be able to update it there. I'll use the BICP survey addresses to ship the multi-series combo boxes
- Both campaigns will get updated when the multi-series orders start shipping, so keep an eye on either!

Gonna do a good-bad-good news sandwich, here.
First, a good thing:
The books are being printed!
Have some photos of the proof copy of Volume 4. As usual, it's not a fully bound book, it's just a chance for me to look at the pages. (They look nice.)
Trivia: I changed a few things behind-the-scenes about the template I use for the cover art. Not to make the final outcome look different (I want all the books to match!) -- just to make the production files easier to work with.
So far, so good.
Next, a bad thing:
You may or may not have heard -- depending on how many Webcomic People you follow on Twitter -- but Kickstarter management recently announced a mysterious blockchain project with no concrete benefits.
Apparently, they did this without consulting (or even informing) the staff who actually run the site. So...not a good sign.
I don't want to start a whole new debate about it in this comments section. There are plenty of existing forums for that. But it seemed important to bring up, just to make one thing clear:
I have two still-partly-unfulfilled crowdfunding projects that ran through Kickstarter. Leif & Thorn volume 4, and the But I'm A Cat Person omnibus.
I'm not going anywhere before the fulfillment is covered! Whatever parts of the process I need to run through the Kickstarter platform, they still get to run.
Whether I launch any more crowdfunding projects on Kickstarter is up to them.
If you're one of the users who is considering just flat-out deleting your account, I hope you'll at least keep it active until I deliver your books.

The Volume 4: Blazing Stars ebook is available for download!
Backers who got the ebook, look out for a DM with your coupon for 100% off.
All other ebook coupons will be distributed next week-ish through BackerKit. That includes ebooks you didn't get during the campaign, but picked up as add-ons during the BackerKit survey.
And of course, if you miss the window with BackerKit, you can just buy all these things directly through the Leif & Thorn Gumroad store!
(Looks like Gumroad pushed a website update recently that broke a bunch of the custom layout colors...so the store may be a little hard to read. I'll go tinker with that, uh, one of these days.)
